Will I feel pain during or after the procedure?
We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. Remember, toothache pain is the main reason for patients seeking treatment. Fortunately, anesthetics can make the procedure pain free in most cases. Seeking treatment early makes the procedure more comfortable, so don't wait. When caught early, treatment should feel no different that a having a regular filling.
How many visits will a root canal take?
The treatment consists of three or four basic steps, but the number of visits will depend on your particular case. Some treatments take 2 or 3 visits but many are just a single visit. It will depends on the degree of infection/inflammation and degree of treatment difficulty.
Will I need to return to your office for follow-ups after the procedure is finished?
Yes, for most root canal treatments, we recommend that patients return to the office 1 year after the procedure was finished. Our office will send a reminder notice to you when you are due for a recall appointment.
